Day 1 – Arrival in Kigali

You arrive in Kigali, one of Africa’s cleanest and most welcoming cities. After a warm reception, you are transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, you may explore parts of the city, gaining insight into Rwanda’s history and vibrant culture.

Day 2 – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

You depart Kigali and journey north through Rwanda’s rolling hills, a landscape that gives the country its nickname. The drive is scenic and immersive, with terraced farms and picturesque villages along the way. As you approach Volcanoes National Park, the dramatic volcanic peaks rise in the distance, creating a sense of anticipation.

Day 3 – Gorilla Trekking Experience

This is the highlight of your safari. You venture into the dense forest in search of mountain gorillas. The trek takes you through bamboo forests and misty slopes, culminating in a powerful encounter with a gorilla family. The experience is intimate and unforgettable, offering a rare connection with one of the world’s most remarkable species.

Day 4 – Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Lake Kivu

You begin the day with a visit to the forest to track golden monkeys, known for their playful nature and striking appearance. Later, you descend toward Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s Great Lakes. The scenery shifts to a calm lakeside environment, perfect for relaxation after the intensity of trekking.

Day 5 – Relaxation at Lake Kivu

This day is spent enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Lake Kivu. The calm waters and surrounding hills create a tranquil atmosphere. You may explore nearby communities, take a boat ride, or simply relax by the lake, soaking in the beauty of Rwanda’s landscape.

Day 6 – Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

You continue south along the scenic lakeshore before heading into Nyungwe Forest. The journey is one of the most beautiful in Rwanda, with endless views of hills and tea plantations. Nyungwe’s ancient rainforest offers a cool and refreshing environment, rich in biodiversity.

Day 7 – Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy Walk

The forest comes alive as you track chimpanzees in their natural habitat. The experience is dynamic, with the sounds of the forest guiding your journey. Later, you enjoy a canopy walk suspended high above the forest floor, offering breathtaking views and a unique perspective of the ecosystem.

Day 8 – Return to Kigali & Departure

You return to Kigali, enjoying the scenic drive through Rwanda’s hills one last time. Depending on your flight schedule, you may explore local markets or cultural sites before your departure, marking the end of a memorable journey through the Land of 1000 Hills.
